Question of the Day: To Receive or Not to Receive Gifts?

So what I like receiving gifts, does that make me shallow or superficial?  No, no, and no…not at all, that means you enjoy visual symbols of love and maybe even a little more so than others.  In the book, The 5 Love Languages, the author discusses in detail 5 separate languages of love.  Among the 5 is this topic that was brought up about receiving gifts.  To receive a gift for someone whose love language speaks to receiving gifts is valuable.  No matter how much the gift costs to a person whose love language is that of receiving gifts there is great value in the actual act of gift giving.  Just think about it when you are gifting a present to someone you have them in mind while you are trying to decipher what gift would best suit him or her.  Often times while you are thinking of someone when you are looking to purchase a gift for them you are outwardly trying to express your love and or appreciation for them.  Free gifts are among the list of items that can be gifted to someone especially someone who appreciates receiving gifts.  Sometimes a free gift can hold more value than say a gift with a monetary value attached to it.  So ladies and gents if your partner’s language of love is that of receiving gifts no banks have to be broken to become a gift giver.  I hope I answered your question…and for those who were really interested in today’s post topic go out there and purchase or rent out from the library The 5 Languages The Secrets to Love that Last by Gary Chapman to find out more about the 5 languages of love.

Until next time,

Take care and be true.
